The Nigerian movie scene is once again in mourning following the passing of veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe. The sad news was shared on social media by filmmaker Stanley Nwoko on his Instagram page on Tuesday. Nwoko paid tribute to Adigwe, writing, “Rest in peace, good actor.”
Adigwe’s death follows the tragic loss of Junior Pope and three other Nollywood actors who recently lost their lives in a boat accident on Anam River. The actors were reportedly on their way to a filming location when the incident occurred.
Zulu Adigwe was known for his exceptional portrayal of fatherly roles in Nollywood films.
He gained recognition for his breakthrough role as Mr. B in the popular sitcom “Basi and Company.” Adigwe’s career spanned several decades, and he was a familiar face in many successful Nollywood films, including the 2019 hit “Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.”
Born in Enugu State, Adigwe spent his early years there before moving to Austria, where he completed his primary and secondary education. His passing is a significant loss to the Nigerian film industry, and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues and fans alike.
